About Vienna Art School
Welcome
Hi, I’m Jennifer Crotwell, and my love for teaching comes from one simple joy—helping students tap into that creative place inside we all have, and watching them create incredible things they never imagined possible. It’s a beautiful thing to witness.
Since 2010, I’ve been teaching art classes at our art school, guiding students through everything from drawing and painting to sculpture and clay work. We explore line, composition, contrast, depth, and design—always with plenty of room for experimentation and fun in our creative classes here in Santa Cruz County.
Mission
Encouraging all ages in Santa Cruz to explore the creative place within and make art they never imagined possible, I founded Vienna Art School to create a space where kids could freely explore and make art. My own four daughters have been part of this art school since they were very young, and over the years, it has grown through word of mouth, welcoming countless students to our creative classes after school to discover their creativity and love of making art. I love helping students of all ages tap into that creative place inside and discover what they’re capable of. In my art classes, we explore different mediums with a focus on fun, skill-building, and those magical ‘I didn’t know I could do that!’ moments.
Classes
At Vienna Art School in Santa Cruz, we offer a variety of creative classes for all ages. Kids can explore drawing, painting, and mixed-media art projects that build skills in line, color, and design.
We also have clay classes for kids, teens, and adults that cover both hand-building and wheel-throwing, with various design and glazing techniques.
For adults, we host monthly Paint Nights at our art school—fun, relaxed evenings of painting, appetizers, and drinks, perfect for friends or a night out. These paint nights occur once a month.
Additionally, I run a week-long summer art camp, typically during the 2nd week of June. We accommodate up to 25 kids ages 6 and up from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, offering 4 hours of engaging art projects ranging from drawing and painting to a variety of crafts, culminating in a big art show at the end of the week.
All of our regular art classes run in 8-week sessions with small groups of up to 10 students, ensuring plenty of personal attention and room to create.
